whey protein fiber usecase
MindFlora® · 30 vegetarian capsules
The daily synbiotic for people eating a lot of protein and not much fibre.

- Prebiotic inulin so the strains establish
- Acid-resistant delivery, not dead bacteria
- 600 IU Vitamin D3, 100% of the Indian RDA

Who this is for
If you eat well and still can't go, this is the combination causing it.
High protein with low fibre is the single most common pattern behind adult constipation that doesn't respond to the usual advice. You're eating clean, which is exactly why nobody has been able to help you — every suggestion you've been given assumes you eat badly.
And when you do, it takes real effort and you still don't feel finished.
Worth fixing sooner rather than later — repeated straining is how people end up with piles and fissures.
The sulphur note is hydrogen sulfide, produced when bacteria ferment protein instead of fibre.
Contents sitting rather than moving. It builds through the day and resets overnight.
Water only softens stool if there's fibre holding onto it. Without fibre it's absorbed higher up.
It works, but only while you keep taking it — because it never addressed why transit slowed.
How it works
Two problems, and a capsule built to handle both.
Almost every piece of advice you've been given addresses the first one only. That's why the results always stall.
-
Low fibre means low bulk, and low bulk means a weak signal
Stool volume is what stretches the colon wall, and that stretch triggers the contractions that move everything along. Small, dense stool doesn't stretch enough, so transit slows. The longer contents sit, the more water the colon reclaims — which is the hard stool and the straining.
-
Protein you didn't absorb ends up being fermented
Your small intestine has a ceiling. Six eggs, 250g of chicken, a paneer-heavy dinner — some of it reaches the colon undigested, where there are no protein enzymes, only bacteria. They ferment it into ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and p-cresol. That's the smell, and those compounds irritate the gut lining directly.
-
The population tilts, and butyrate production stops
Feed a microbial community mostly protein and the protein-fermenting species outgrow the fibre-fermenting ones within weeks. The fibre-fermenting side is what produces butyrate — the main fuel for your colon cells and part of what keeps the muscle wall contracting. Losing it makes the slowdown self-sustaining.
-
Which is why adding fibre alone backfires
A heaped scoop of husk into a gut whose fibre-fermenting population has been depleted for years means nobody's down there to ferment it properly. You get a week of gas and cramping, decide fibre doesn't agree with you, and stop. The fibre wasn't wrong — the bacteria were missing.
-
So MindFlora sends both in together
Twelve strains to rebuild the fibre-fermenting side, 50 mg of inulin so they have a substrate and actually establish, and acid-resistant delivery so they survive a stomach running at around pH 1.5. That combination — bacteria plus their food — is what the word synbiotic means.
What's inside
Every organism named, every dose disclosed.
No proprietary blend and no single large CFU number standing in for transparency. Strains are listed in order of relevance to this problem.
How it compares
Against everything else you've bought for this.
Two of these beat us outright on speed, and that's the first row rather than something buried. What they don't do is change why you got blocked in the first place.

Keep taking isabgol for the first few weeks if it's helping — the two don't conflict. The one worth tapering, with a doctor's input, is the stimulant laxative.
What to expect
The honest timeline, so you don't quit in week three.
This isn't a laxative and it won't work tonight. If you need relief this week, take what you already have and start this alongside it.
Softer before more frequent
The first change most people notice isn't going more often — it's that going takes far less effort. The gas usually improves in smell before it improves in volume, because hydrogen sulfide production falls first. Some people get a slightly gassier first week while the population shifts; it typically settles by day seven to ten.
It becomes predictable
Butyrate production picks up and the colon wall starts contracting properly again. Frequency improves and, more usefully, becomes regular rather than random. Most people stop thinking about it daily around here.
The crutches become optional
Most people find they've stopped reaching for isabgol without consciously deciding to. The heavy, blocked evening feeling goes, and the smell keeps improving as protein fermentation falls further.
It holds by itself
A gut that copes with a travel week, wedding season or a heavy protein phase without putting you back to square one — without you managing it every day.

Fermedicius Labs, Bengaluru — WHO-GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and ISO 13485. FSSAI licensed, marketed by SUPRV Innovations, Navi Mumbai.
Stable at room temperature for 24 months, so there's no cold chain to break in transit during an Indian summer.
What we won't claim
MindFlora has not been through a clinical trial as a finished product. The evidence behind it is published research on the individual strains and ingredients, which is not the same thing and we won't pretend it is.
It's a food supplement, not a medicine, and it doesn't treat or cure any condition.
What buyers say
4.1 average from 83 verified reviews. We leave the critical ones up.
“Six eggs and chicken every day, going every third day for two years. By week three it stopped being an event. Haven't touched isabgol since month two.”
Verified buyer · 30-day pack“Two doctors told me to eat more fibre. Nobody explained why adding fibre made things worse for a week. The prebiotic being in the capsule is what made the difference.”
Verified buyer · 90-day user“Gassier for the first week before it got better — settled around day ten. Worth knowing upfront so you don't stop early like I nearly did.”

Start here
One capsule a day. Judge it in week eight.
Take it with water after any meal — not with a hot drink. Keep the isabgol going for the first few weeks if it's helping. Add a katori of dal or a bowl of sabzi wherever you can; this works without that, and faster with it.

Questions
Answered directly.
I already tried a probiotic and it did nothing. Why would this be different?
Check your old tub against four things. Does it survive stomach acid — delayed-release, enteric, or a Bacillus strain? Does it contain a prebiotic like inulin, so the bacteria have something to eat? Are all strains named with individual CFU counts, or is it one big number over an undisclosed blend? And does the label say what any strain is actually for? Most shelf products fail two or three of those. That's usually the whole explanation.
Is this a laxative?
No. Nothing in it forces a bowel movement, which means no cramping and nothing to become dependent on. It works by restoring the bacteria and the substrate that keep transit moving on its own. The trade-off is honest: weeks rather than hours.
Do I have to eat less protein?
No. The goal is a gut that handles what you're already eating. Two things help alongside: spread the protein across more meals instead of two or three large ones, and raise fibre gradually rather than in one jump — a sudden increase is exactly what causes the bad week that makes people quit.
Can I keep taking isabgol?
Yes, and for the first few weeks we'd suggest you do. They don't conflict — isabgol adds bulk today while this rebuilds the system underneath. Most people taper off it naturally around month two or three.
I'm on Cremaffin or Dulcolax most weeks. What should I do?
Speak to a doctor about coming off it rather than stopping abruptly on your own. Regular stimulant laxative use deserves a proper conversation. You can start this alongside in the meantime.
Why does the gas sometimes get worse in week one?
For some people it does, and it's the population shifting rather than something going wrong. New bacteria arrive, start fermenting the inulin, and the balance changes. It usually settles by day seven to ten. Take the capsule after food rather than on an empty stomach. If it hasn't settled after two weeks, stop and speak to a doctor.
My current probiotic says 100 billion CFU. Isn't more better?
CFU is a headcount, not an outcome. A hundred billion of one or two generic strains, in a capsule that dissolves in stomach acid, with nothing to feed them, delivers less useful bacteria to your colon than 35 billion of twelve selected strains in a delayed-release capsule with inulin alongside.
How and when do I take it?
One capsule daily with water, after any meal. Not with a scalding hot drink or coffee. After dinner is easiest for most people to remember, and consistency matters far more than timing.
Is it safe with my other supplements?
Yes — live cultures, inulin and Vitamin D3, with no stimulants. One thing worth knowing separately: iron and calcium supplements are themselves a common cause of constipation, so if you started one recently, mention it to your doctor. If you're on prescription medication or immunosuppressed, check before starting.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Email care@thegutstory.com or WhatsApp 8069409437 and the team will go through your intake, fibre and timing with you — often it's a fixable detail. Refunds and replacements follow the refund policy published on the site.
